The City of Raleigh will hold elections for Mayor and all City Council Seats this fall. On August 22, 2015 from 2-4 pm, MAPAC, in Association with the As-Salaam Mosque, will sponsor a Town Hall Meeting for the candidates for these offices. All Muslim residents of Raleigh are urged to attend. Candidates will be given an opportunity to make prepared statements explaining who they are and why they feel they should be elected, then there will be a refreshment and snack break where the candidates can mingle with the Muslim community members in attendance and hear their views. The social/snack break will be followed by a formal, moderated question and answer session during which time candidates will be asked to answer questions from the audience. There are a total of 18 candidates in this election, at least 15 of whom will either attend or send a representative to this meeting with the Raleigh Muslim Community.
