Jumah Prayer at the Democratic National Convention

  • 31 Aug 2012
  • Marshall Park ------ 800 East 3rd Street Charlotte, NC 28204
The Muslim American Public Affairs Council (MAPAC) will join other Muslim organizations in hosting a "Jumah Prayer at the Democratic National Convention" in Charlotte on August 31, 2012. Jumah Prayer will be followed by a number of other programs and events relative to the American Muslim political involvement, which include a Banquet with special invited guest, an Islamic Issues Conference, an Islamic Cultural Festival and Halal Entertainment for all ages (August 31 to Sept. 2). The highlight of the event is to rally large numbers of Muslims to participate in this event and to make the general public aware especially political candidates that the Muslim community is vibrant, active and is engaged in the political process and our voice and vote does count. Although this activity demonstrate political activism, it will not be an endorsement of any political candidate or party; there will be a MAPAC town hall meeting/candidates forum on October 20, 2012 designed especially for endorsement.
MAPAC urges our Muslim community to attend this historic event in Charlotte. Car pooling will be available, contact your MAPAC rep. for additional information.
